Service Center

The Service Center's primary function is to serve as a single point of contact for all project/service requests, trouble calls and maintenance emergencies for the campus. This is a 24-hour service and can be reached at (626) 395-4717 or e-mail ppservice@caltech.edu.

Service Center is also responsible for various support activities within the Facilities Management Department including human resource activities, time and attendance accounting, mail distribution, and other administrative functions.

In contacting the Service Center, please help us help you. Provide us with all the necessary information at the time you submit the request. Please provide us the following information:

  • Department Name
  • Contact person's full name, telephone and email address
  • Brief description of work required
  • Location of work to be accomplished

Installation, maintenance or repairs to department equipment and property would normally be charged to the requesting party. Examples of chargeable equipment include movable equipment, laminar flow hoods, power conditioners, Neslabs, vacuum systems clean steam generators, sterilizers, processed chilled water systems, cold rooms, etc., carpet replacement, and air conditioning equipment specifically installed to serve a unique piece of laboratory equipment.
